Autism Action Partnership’s Mission is to improve the quality of life of persons on the Autism Spectrum and their families through education, advocacy and support, thereby enabling them to be an integral part of the community. Started by Gail Werner-Robertson and Scott Robertson in 2000 when they began the GWR Sunshine Foundation which evolved into the Autism Action Partnership in 2008.
WAVE Interactive has worked with the Autism Action Partnership since that time on their website and supporting digital services. Recently we launched their new website, http://www.autismaction.org/. We’ve had the privilege of working with Rachel Cordwin, the Development Director and David Pantos, Executive Director of the Autism Action Partnership. Their energy, insight and dedication to this community served as a big inspiration for the project.
This fully-responsive site has full content manageability, search engine optimized features, and a new modern user interface. The site gives the Autism Action Partnership more freedom and flexibility in the content management system to create and upload /pages/sections/graphics while keeping the site responsive to tablets and mobile devices. The site has information about the autism spectrum in addition to the Autism Action Partnership’s many community programs and initiatives. Additionally, the site has a robust resources section for parents and caregivers to find the best resources for their child from healthcare to therapy services. For the project, we came also came up with the creative direction and procured a year-long series of photographs that capture the vast work that the AAP is doing. We brought on Krissy Hamm (Unpaved Road Productions) and Tessa Wedberg to shoot these events and also to produce and direct a short film that was screened at their annual fundraising event in September which you can view above.
These content elements mixed with the user experience design brings together the Autism Action Partnership’s bold brand colors and new beautiful bright photography; all of which help to emulate the mission of the Autism Action Partnership and the smiles they bring to the audiences they serve.
